BLACK NAPKIN TAKEOUT

Korin and Jason worked tirelessly to bring Black Napkin, their dream takeout restaurant, to the corner of Diamond and Fulton in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the Fall of 2022. The high-quality casual food and hand-made sodas are made with the same care and creativity as their popsicles. Yeah, they also run a badass popsicle operation called Any Colour You Like. The Black Napkin name is a bit of a middle finger to the idea that great food needs to be stuffy and formal. And in the same spirit, the direction for the logo was to create some kind of creature, make it weird, and to work in aspects of the restaurant concept, which turned out as uncomfortable as it did beautifully. The logo sets expectations for the experience and Black Napkin has quickly become a beloved recognizable staple in the Grand Rapids burger scene.

testimonial

Aaron was a dream to work with. My husband and I cannot speak highly enough of his professionalism, attention to detail, quality of work, and promptness. Aaron is genuine and really listens when being spoken to, and has a terrific sense of humor.

My husband and I were opening a new burger joint/storefront for our already-established popsicle brand. We gave Aaron what we figured was a rather vague, extremely open-ended, and far-out vision. He absolutely nailed it, the work communicates what our brand is and is perfect for the area we are located in. He was able to read us and apply it to what we were looking for because he paid attention to everything about us, not just our words. We will absolutely be working with Aaron again and very much look forward to it.
