My name is Aaron McCall, and I’m a freelance graphic designer and independent artist based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I’ve been getting paid to do this for over 15 years, working with people and brands who’d rather be bold than boring. I’ve picked up some awards here and there, but that’s never been the point. The point is smart, sticky, cool-as-shit design that helps gutsy brands carve out their own space—and own it.
Originality, nerve, and wit are baked into everything I make. Good design should feel like it belongs to you—not like it was pulled off a shelf. It should spark something, hold attention, and actually be remembered. And if it doesn’t do that, what’s the point?

I like being the guy who designs the things real people interact with—the label on the beer you’re drinking, the bag you pour your coffee beans from, the logo above the door at your favorite restaurant, or the poster for some event you love—I like being part of people’s lives in that way. And I love the process—the swearing, the failing, the play, the kill—all of it.
Every project is a whole new scene—the client, the scale, the scope, the budget. But my skill set, sense of taste, and perspective position me to create a space that nurtures relationships and drives creative ideas with stellar execution and real results. And yeah, I’m just one guy, but I’m not alone. I keep good company with a carefully curated network of writers, photographers, developers, and other talented people to help tell a story worth telling.
